Advertising and monetization

Inventory you can sell, or none at all

A first-party ad server is built in: no ad network, no advertising cookies, and nothing sold to a stranger. Sell placements to members and sponsors, or leave every slot empty and the pages close up as if it were never there.

Packages

Three ways a member can buy attention

The same three packages the Melville Chamber of Commerce sells today. You set the prices; the platform does not publish a rate card for you.

One square

Standard

A 1:1 box that runs in every square placement: the home band, beside and below articles, in the feed and on the thank-you page after someone registers.

1200 × 1200 recommended, 800 × 800 minimum

Banner plus square

Enhanced

A 6:1 banner across the top of pages and through the grids, plus the square. On a phone the square takes the banner’s place, so the ad is never shrunk to a strip.

Banner 2400 × 400 (6:1), 1600 × 267 minimum, plus the square

No artwork at all

Promoted listing

A member’s own listing pinned to the top of directory results for up to 20 keywords they choose, with a Featured badge, its own map pin and a badge on the profile. In the website and in both apps.

Up to 20 keywords. Always labeled as paid.

Placements

Seventeen places an ad can run

Seven square placements and ten banner placements, woven into the pages people actually read. Every ad carries a Sponsored label, and every link is marked sponsored for search engines.

Upload it, place it, schedule it

  • Drag in a JPG, PNG or WebP, or paste a hosted link
  • A live preview in the real shape, with the Sponsored tag on it
  • An automatic size and shape check that says good, close or wrong
  • Alt text and the click-through address on every creative
  • A start date and an end date, and a running or paused switch
  • A weight from 1 to 100 when several ads share a placement: higher shows more often
  • Link the ad to a member’s record, or mark it as not a member
Reporting

Numbers to put in front of a sponsor

  • Impressions, clicks and click rate per ad, over the last 30 days
  • A 30-day daily chart with the busiest day marked
  • A breakdown by placement, so a sponsor sees where they performed
  • Promoted listings counted separately, in search and on the profile
  • Counts only: no record of who saw an ad, ever
Sponsorship

Sponsors, exhibitors and the big day

Advertising is one line of revenue. For most chambers the signature event is the bigger one, and it runs on the same platform.

Exhibitor tables

Standard and premium tables sold on the event’s own page, with an electricity add-on, paid by card or invoiced. Sold-out levels refuse the booking on the server.

Sponsor levels

Named sponsorship tiers with their own stock, a sponsor wall of logos and a restaurant row, on a page with a countdown to the day.

In the ledger

Every table and sponsorship lands in the payments ledger, paid or to invoice, with abandoned checkouts listed so nobody slips away.

How the money moves through Stripe

Or not

Running ad-free is a real option

Plenty of communities would rather members see nothing for sale. Leave the ad manager empty and there is nothing to switch off: an unsold slot takes up no space at all.

  • No filler, no house ads, no “advertise here” boxes
  • No ad network, so no third party ever serves into your pages
  • The apps carry no display ads either way; only Promoted listings, if you sell them
  • Start selling later and the placements are already there
Without ads

Where the money comes from instead

  • Membership dues, renewing on their own every year
  • Ticketed events, with member and guest prices
  • Exhibitor tables and sponsorships for your signature event
  • Promoted listings, sold to members as an upgrade rather than to outsiders as ads
